The below photo's are a photo journal for my website visitors to enjoy.  I have been fortunate to have been able to travel from time to time and with each trip, I photograph turfgrass conditions that I encounter.  I will continue this forum and add to the photo's (and of course soil profile samples) as I continue to travel from place to place.

This is the tour I led for Dr. Phil Busey from the University of Florida. This is Pro Player Stadium. Alan Sigwart is Sports Turf Manager here. Pro Player stadium had been re-sodded four weeks previous to these photo being taken as Baseball had just ended and the field was renovated to remove the clay and convert it to football.

This is some of Dr. Busey's students on the field at Pro Player Stadium as it was being prepared and painted for the Rams game on October 24th. Here is a profile of the Pro Player Stadium field. It is a sand based field and the sod was also sand based but was one and one half inches thick to prevent it from being torn out as it was played on a week after installation. This is a soil profile taken with the Mascaro Profile Sampler

While at Pro Player Stadium, we conducted penetrometer testing with the Turf-Tec Penetrometer. Since the filed had just been completely renovated, the compaction readings were uniform over the entire field. While at Pro Player Stadium, we also conducted Infiltrometer tests with the Turf-Tec Infiltrometer. The field is a prescription athletic turf field (PAT).
